The law comes first

All wild birds are protected in the UK. Lawful control of pest species in England happens only under Natural England's General Licences — GL40 (conservation), GL41 (serious damage), GL42 (health and safety) — or an individual licence, each with strict conditions.

That's why every bird job starts with an assessment: species identification, the applicable licence basis, and the non-lethal options considered — recorded in writing before anything else happens. If the lawful basis isn't there, the work doesn't happen, and you'll be told why.
